Vita

Roxanne H. Padley is tenure track assistant professor in English linguistics and translation at the Pegaso Digital University and was previously research fellow at the University of Bergamo. She is departmental representative for internationalisation and actively participates in the Erasmus board. She is also research quality reviewer for ANVUR (National Agency for the Evaluation of the University System and Research). She holds a PhD in English linguistics specialising in healthcare communication and has taught extensively in the fields of English for Medical purposes as well as English for Professional, Technical and Communicative purposes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Salerno, the University of Sassari and the University of Bergamo. She is also visiting professor in English for Academic Purposes at the University of Oxford. Her research interests include English for specific purposes (scientific-medical English), healthcare communication, corpus-based discourse analysis and English language teaching with new technologies.

Her recent publications include a co-edited special issue entitled Healthcare Communication Discourses and the Applied Linguist (2025, International Journal of Language Studies) and a forthcoming monograph entitled A Corpus Based Analysis of Healthcare Communication and Interaction: Cosmetic Surgery Discourses (2026, Peter Lang).
